Cure for diabetes found on Brahmayoni hill, deep secret hidden in medicinal plants. Researchers from Magadh University, Bihar conducted a study on the centuries old mystery.
Gurmar plant for diabetes: A panacea has been found for the diabetes that is rapidly gripping the Indian people. Indian researchers based in Bihar have confirmed the centuries-old mystery and discovered one such plant. They say that medicinal plants are effective in controlling diabetes. A study has been done on one such medicinal plant which is found in Brahmayoni hill in Gaya, Bihar. The medicinal capabilities of this plant are so great that it not only controls diabetes but also obesity and lipid profile.
International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts (IJCRT) In a study published by professors of Magadh University, Bihar, it was told that one of the three medicinal plants found on Brahmayoni hill, Gudmar (Gymnema sylvestre), is the same plant which is a panacea for diabetes. This is the same area where for centuries traditional Vaidyas have been using these plants in the treatment of various diseases including diabetes. Recently CSIR has added Gudmar to its anti-diabetic drug BGR-34 and it has been brought to the market through Emil Pharma. This drug has also been successful. It has been seen that Gudmar has some such medicinal properties that make BGR-34 capable of controlling diabetes as well as lipid profile.

Gymnemic acid found in gurmar has a unique ability to reduce blood sugar. The specialty of gymnemic acid is that it fills the receptor space in the outer layer of the intestine. Due to which the craving for sweetness stops. The result is that the intestine reduces the absorption of sugar molecules, which reduces the amount of sugar in the blood. Therefore, it is very beneficial for diabetic patients.
These properties are present in gurmar
Gudmar also contains flavonoids and saponins that regulate lipid metabolism. Flavonoids have antioxidant properties while saponins lower cholesterol.
AIIMS also confirmed this in the study
In the year 2022, a study conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has also confirmed that BGR-34 is effective in reducing obesity along with blood sugar. It also improves the metabolism system of the body.
Other medicines were also included
Dr. Sanchit Sharma, Executive Director of Emil Pharma, said that along with gurmar, daruharidra, giloy, vijaysar, majith and methika medicines are also included in diabetes medicine. It controls diabetes, lipid profile and metabolism as well as increases the amount of antioxidants. Researchers say that the first medicine for diabetes, metformin, is also made from a medicinal plant, galega. Therefore, more in-depth research should be done on gurmar so that another effective medical option can be made available to the new generation.
