Baleshwar Sharma, an Ayurvedacharya with over 20 years of experience in the field of Ayurveda and a medical officer employed at the Mohanpur Primary Health Center, told Local 18 that all parts of Giloy – leaves, roots and stem – are beneficial for health, with the stem being the most commonly used for the treatment of various ailments.
Giloy is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties, which provide relief from conditions like diabetes, fever, jaundice, arthritis, diabetes, constipation, acidity, indigestion and urinary diseases. He told that Giloy plant is not planted intentionally; it grows naturally in the forest, but consuming it can prevent many diseases.
