Sandeep is counted among the most prominent players of Nepal cricket and also became the first player to play for his country in the Indian Premier League, in which he was a part of the Delhi Capitals team. The victim had said that she was sexually assaulted on August 21, 2022. The identity of the victim has been kept confidential. Lamichhane was arrested soon after and spent time in jail before being released on bail while the case was heard in court.
Nepal Cricket Board also lifted the 8 year ban
Nepal Cricket Board issued a press release on Wednesday and gave this information that they have lifted the ban imposed on Sandeep Lamichhane. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) President Chatur Bahadur Chand said in the release that the Honorable High Court of Patan has found Lamichhane innocent and his ban from domestic and international cricket has been lifted. Let us tell you that leg spinner Lamichhane has so far played 51 ODI and 52 T20 matches for Nepal in which he has taken 112 and 98 wickets respectively. Lamichhane’s acquittal means he will be available to represent Nepal in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
