After the audio of demanding potato as bribe went viral, the SP suspended the post in-charge and started an investigation. Minister Asim Arun congratulated the SP on this action.

Ram Kripal, the in-charge of Chapunna Bahwalpur police post in Saurikh police station area of Kannauj, demanded potatoes as bribe. In the viral audio, he is asking someone for 5 kg of potatoes as bribe. The other person expresses his inability to give so many potatoes and agrees for 2 kg but agrees for 3 kg. As soon as SP Kannauj Amit Kumar Anand comes to know about the viral audio, he suspends the outpost in-charge without any delay.

The SP has given the investigation of the case to CO Sadar Kamlesh Kumar. If the investigation proves that the bribe was demanded for potatoes, strict action can be taken against the outpost in-charge. He said that the investigation is going on and departmental action is being taken against the accused inspector.
