Dr. Vidya Gupta, Home Science Scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Niamatpur, said that protein, calcium, fiber, magnesium and iron are found in abundance in Makhana. Antioxidants are also found in good quantity in it. Due to which it increases immunity. If Makhana is included in the diet plan, it will keep you away from many diseases.
Makhana controls weight
Makhana is low in fat and energy, while fiber is found in high quantity. Therefore, it proves helpful in keeping the stomach full for a long time. It prevents one from feeling hungry again and again. With which you can control your weight. Makhana also proves to be very effective in controlling high cholesterol levels.
Makhana strengthens bones
Makhana is rich in calcium. Because of which it helps in strengthening the bones. It also protects from bone disease osteoporosis. Regular consumption of Makhana also provides relief from problems like blood pressure and diabetes.

Dr. Vidya Gupta told that you can eat Makhana by roasting it, making kheer, raita or making vegetables. Apart from this, its powder can also be made and mixed with milk and drunk. Sattu can also be made from Makhana powder by adding salt or sweet. Makhana can also be used to make dry fruits laddus. Makhana can also be used to make sweets or namkeen.

Dr. Vidya Gupta told that if you have any kind of allergy after eating Makhana, then do not consume Makhana. In such a situation it can spoil your health.
