Once upon a time, Kandru used to grow in large quantities in the forests of Etawah, but with changing times, due to its increasing demand, farmers have started growing it in their fields, making it a source of employment.
In Etawah district, Kandru is being sold in the open market for 60 kg, which people eat with great pleasure. A very delicious vegetable is prepared from it. While talking to Local 18, Sakib, a shopkeeper selling Kandru, said that there is a lot of demand for Kandru in Etawah.
Dr. Archana Singh, a dietician posted at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Government Joint Hospital, says that if a person is suffering from diabetes, then consuming kandru vegetable is very beneficial for him. Diabetes patients should definitely include kandru vegetable in their diet.
Due to the low glycemic index level in Kandru, it keeps the blood sugar level under control.
