As soon as the Mahua season ends, Piyar, Kanuda which is also called Karonda, Katar and other fruits start becoming available in the forests. These days, especially in the regional markets of Chatra, Piyaar, Kanoda and Katar are available. These fruits are available in abundance in the forests. Both ‘Pyaar and Katar’ are available for Rs 10 in Pathalgada, Nawadih, Ganguly, Meral, Dwari and other markets. Many children and villagers will be seen selling pyar and kataar on the sides of Chatra-Balumath, Chatra-Hazaribagh via, Katkamsandi, Chatra-Dobhi path, Chatra-Simaria and other roads.

These are easily found in Lavalong, Kunda and other blocks also. In the border forests of Pathalgada, Simaria and Katkamsandi, tendu, pyar, kataar, kanuda and other fruit trees are found in abundance. Villagers collect these fruits from the forests and bring them to sell in the weekly market. These fruits are easily sold as soon as they reach the market. Many people are also getting employment from these fruits. Pyaar is known for its sweetness and unique taste. Chironji is also extracted from love seeds found in the forests of Jharkhand.
