Kolkata, The Trinamool Congress (TMC) will demonstrate against the recent court order to cancel 25,753 school jobs in West Bengal.
Trinamool has alleged that the CPI (M) and BJP have conspired to abolish 25,753 teaching and non-teaching jobs in various government schools. The state head of the Trinamool Congress on Monday claimed that a big protest rally would be held in Kolkata on 9 April by the party’s student and youth wing members. He said that the rally will start from the college square in North Kolkata at 3 pm and will end in Esplaynade in Central Kolkata.
He said, “A similar protest rallies will be held in every district of the state on 10 April.”
Political observers said that Trinamool has deliberately accused the CPI -M and BJP for the end of jobs, as direct opposition would be against the Supreme Court (SC) verdict.
Last week, the Supreme Court bench upheld the earlier order of the Calcutta High Court to cancel a total of 25,753 appointments made by the West Bengal School Services Commission (WBSSC).
Opposition leaders have mocked Trinamool’s decision to protest and claimed that the ruling party is protesting against a Chief Minister, whose corruption, due to corruption, first canceled the Calcutta High Court and then the Supreme Court canceled the entire panel.
Last week, a division bench of the Supreme Court had also accepted the comment of the Calcutta High Court bench that the state government and the Commission had to cancel the entire panel of 25,753 jobs due to failure to separate the “real” candidates from the “tainted” candidates who have allegedly paid jobs.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a meeting and also expressed doubt about any “sports” behind the order to cancel the job by the Supreme Court.
