Consumption of tobacco can cause cancer of mouth, throat, lungs, throat, food pipe and kidney. Through many advertisements and awareness programs, people are also made aware to avoid diseases caused by tobacco. Despite this, the number of people consuming tobacco is increasing day by day.
In such a situation, not only the number of men is increasing but the number of women consuming tobacco is also continuously increasing. Because of which their health is also at risk of diseases caused by tobacco. More than a dozen patients are coming to BD Pandey District Hospital in Nainital, Uttarakhand every day and all of them are women, who live in the mountains and have been consuming beedi, tobacco etc. for a long time.
7000 chemicals in one cigarette
Dr. Sudhanshu Singh, cardiologist of BD Pandey Hospital, said that there are more cases of smoking in the mountains. More than a dozen patients who smoke are coming to him every day. Most of them are aged women. Some women also have addiction like chewing tobacco. He told that there are 7000 chemicals in one cigarette. Out of these, 70 chemicals are extremely toxic and give rise to diseases like cancer. Due to smoking or tobacco consumption, these chemicals go directly into the lungs and when mixed with the blood, they narrow the passage of blood vessels, due to which the blood flow slows down and the risk of heart attack increases.
Blood becomes thick due to cold in the mountains
Dr. Sudhanshu explains that problems like thickening of blood due to cold are commonly seen in the mountains and if in such a case you smoke, then the risk of heart attack and other heart diseases increases further. At the same time, the risks caused by smoking increase even more in women. He told that after a certain age, the size of the chambers of our heart increases, due to which the heart beats also increase and in such a situation, there is a risk of heart diseases. If you are suffering from heart disease, you should take medicines regularly. Also smoking should be avoided.
