Bharatpur In protest against the proposed flyover, traders in Bharatpur today took out a torch procession despite heavy rains. Members of the Bharatpur Automobile Dealers Society closed their establishments and took out a protest march from Society Bhawan to Kumher Gate intersection to Laxman Mandir Chowk. About 150 shopkeepers participated in this procession.
It was led by Sangharsh Samiti Chairman Mohan Chand Singhal and co-convenor Subhash Jindal, Sudhir Gupta and Subhash Lohia. After the protest, the traders discussed further strategies. The Sangharsh Samiti has announced that the entire market of automobiles including Numaish Road, Kumher Gate, Deeg Road, Transport Nagar and Station Road will remain closed tomorrow, September 1, on Monday, September 1. All the traders will gather at the Society Building at 11 am and will go out as a procession to submit a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner, District Collector and Bharatpur Development Authority.
The Sangharsh Samiti has warned that if the administration does not pay attention to their legitimate demands, then they will be forced to move to the court in the public interest, which will be responsible for the district administration. Traders say that they are registering their protest peacefully.
