Indian Railways is soon going to give a big gift to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is going to formally allow trains to run on the world’s highest Chenab Bridge. Meanwhile, the maximum speed of trains on this bridge has been fixed. This bridge is built on the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir and it is a great example of engineering in the world.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has given approval to run trains on this bridge. According to CRS, trains were tested extensively on this section. After this, permission has been given to run trains at a speed of 85 km per hour here. During the test, trains were run at a speed of 100 km.
46 kilometer section
After the recent tests and trials conducted by CRS, the maximum speed on the Reasi-Sangaldan section has been fixed at 85 kmph. This bridge is built on the 46 km section of Sangladan-Reasi of Udhampur-Baramulla. According to officials, during the trial, trains were run on this bridge at a speed of 100 kmph. Now an official announcement is awaited regarding the operation of trains on this route.
Recently, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared the video of the trial on this bridge. Along with this, he wrote that the first train was successfully operated from Sangaldan to Reasi. During this, the train also crossed the bridge built on the Chenab river. All the work of this bridge is almost complete. Now trains are waiting to run on it as soon as possible. This construction work on this entire route is likely to be completed by the end of this year. By the way, PM Modi inaugurated it on 20 February this year.
