TRAI brings new rules for crores of mobile users.

But, now to avoid this problem, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has come up with a new rule.
TRAI is going to implement a new rule in the interest of customers to avoid the loss due to mobile service shutdown. TRAI’s new rule has brought joy to mobile users. Actually, according to TRAI’s new rule, telecom companies will now have to compensate their customers if the mobile service is shut down. Let us tell you about TRAI’s new rule in detail.
Penalty will be imposed if service is interrupted
TRAI issued Service Quality Standard rules on Friday. Under the new rules, if the mobile service is interrupted or down for more than 24 hours, then now telecom companies will have to compensate their customers. This rule of TRAI can be a big step towards improving network connectivity.
The new rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India will be implemented in the country after six months. If any company does not meet its quality standards, it will have to pay a huge fine. TRAI has now increased the amount of fine from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1 lakh.
TRAI introduced penalty system
TRAI has introduced a penalty system of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, Rs 5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh for different parameters of violations under the revised regulation – “The Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Services Regulations, 2024”.
According to TRAI’s new rule, if the network goes down in any district, then now telecom operators will have to give discounts in the rates to their postpaid customers and the company will also have to give extra validity to prepaid customers. TRAI said that if any network outage is more than 24 hours, then the company will have to give discounts to the affected people in the next billing cycle as per their tariff plan.
