On the last day of the week, Friday, the stock market opened with a huge gain. On Friday, the BSE Sensex opened at 79,984.24 points with a gain of 1098.02 points. On the other hand, NSE’s Nifty 50 also opened at 24,386.85 points with a jump of 269.85 points. Till the time of writing the news, the shares of all the 30 companies of Sensex were trading in the green mark with a strong gain.
The markets closed with a big fall on Thursday
Let us tell you that before this, a big decline was seen in the stock market on Thursday. After the results of the RBI MPC meeting on Thursday, there was a sharp decline in the market which continued till the end. On Thursday, the BSE Sensex closed at 78,886.22 points with a decline of 581.79 points (0.73%), while the Nifty also closed at 24,117.00 points with a decline of 180.50 points (0.74%).
Shares of 23 out of 30 Sensex companies closed with losses
On Thursday, out of 30 Sensex companies, 23 shares closed with a decline while the remaining 7 companies closed in the green. On Thursday, Tata Motors’ shares closed with the highest gain of 1.57 percent while Asian Paints’ shares closed with the highest decline of 3.21 percent. Apart from these, Sun Pharma and Axis Bank’s shares remained almost completely flat and closed in the green.
There was relief from the initial tremors on Wednesday
Earlier, on the first two days of the week, Monday and Tuesday, the Indian stock market witnessed a big decline, after which the market made a great recovery on Wednesday. But on the very next day, i.e. Thursday, the market once again witnessed a big decline.
