Be it children or adults, everyone likes to eat Bhatura. Actually, the shape of Bhature is similar to that of Puri. But, there is a lot of difference between the two. Bhatura are made of flour so they do not rise quickly. Actually, many times it happens that while making Bhature at home, we make mistakes and some important step is missed due to which the Bhature does not become perfect. Ingredients for making Bhatura
2 cups flour, 1 tbsp semolina, 2 tbsp oil, 4 tbsp curd, 1 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp baking powder, oil (for frying), salt, water.
Method to make Bhatura
Mix flour and semolina. Now add salt, sugar, baking powder, curd and 2 tbsp oil. Now mix all these ingredients well. Now add water little by little to this flour and knead a soft dough. Cover this dough with a wet cloth and keep it like this for 3-4 hours. After 3-4 hours you will see that the dough has risen, now knead the dough again. Now divide the dough into equal parts and make a hole in each part. Take one portion of dough, press it into a ball and then roll out round puri. (Do not roll the Bhatura too thin or too thick.) Now heat oil in a frying pan on medium flame (take care that the oil is not too hot) Now put the Bhatura in the oil, after a few seconds , Press it gently with a pan, this will make it rise from the middle. Cook Bhature on medium flame till it turns golden. When Bhatura is fried, take it out. Serve hot with Bhature and Chole.
