Agartala. If you travel by car then this news is very important for you. Actually, Tripura government has fixed the limit for buying and selling of petrol and diesel. Under this, two wheelers will be able to get only Rs 200 per day, while four wheelers will be able to get petrol and diesel only up to Rs 500. The government has taken this step in view of the shortage in fuel reserves due to disruption of goods trains coming to the state.
In fact, due to the massive landslide in Jatinga, Assam, goods trains coming to Tripura have been disrupted. After repair work, passenger train service was restored on April 26, but train service via Jatinga is still suspended at night.

Nirmal Adhikari, Additional Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department, said, ‘Due to the disruption in the movement of goods trains in the state, there has been a reduction in the supply of petrol and diesel and hence there is a ban on the sale of fuel – petrol and diesel from May 1 till further orders. It has been decided to impose some restrictions.

According to the order issued by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, ‘Two wheelers will be able to buy petrol up to Rs 200 and four wheelers will be able to buy petrol up to Rs 500 per day.’ The order said that petrol pumps have been asked to sell only 60 liters of diesel to a bus in a day whereas for mini buses, auto rickshaws and three-wheelers this limit will be 40 and 15 liters respectively.
