After this, Delhi Police will now impose UAPA on all the accused of attacking the Parliament. Let us inform you that on 13 December 2023, two people had entered the Parliament. And they had sprayed color in the Parliament by hiding the smoke container in their shoes.
UAPA will be imposed on 6 accused
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved prosecution under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against 6 people accused of Parliament attack on 13 December 2023. 6 people have been charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for allegedly attacking Parliament during the proceedings of the House on 13 December 2023. In this, 6 people named Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde, Neelam Ranoliya, Lalit Jha and Mahesh Kumawat are accused of illegally entering Parliament and throwing color spray canisters in the Lok Sabha during the live session.
Delhi Police investigated
The Delhi Police had requested the LG to prosecute them under sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, which the LG approved after sufficient evidence was found during the police investigation. The Delhi Police also examined the entire evidence collected by the investigating agency on May 30, 2024 and found the involvement of the accused in the Parliament attack case. After this, the review committee noted that a prima facie case under UAPA is made out against the accused.
The case is with the Counter Intelligence Unit
Delhi Police had registered a case vide FIR No. 142/23 dated 14.12.2023 at Parliament Street Police Station under Sections 186/353/452/153/34/120B IPC and 13/16/18 UA(P) Act on the complaint made by the Security Officer in Lok Sabha. Later, the investigation of the case was transferred from Parliament Street Police Station to Counter Intelligence Unit of PS Special Cell, New Delhi. During the investigation, all these 6 accused were arrested and are presently in judicial custody.
