Six people who breached the security of Parliament will be prosecuted under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has given permission to Delhi Police for this. These people had reached inside the Parliament defying high security and jumped from the top during the parliamentary proceedings. After which there was chaos in the House. Later 6 people were arrested.
According to Delhi Police, all the six accused knew each other and stayed together in the Housing Board Colony of Sector 7 in Gurugram. On the day of the incident, December 13, two of them jumped from the visitors’ gallery of the Lok Sabha and jumped where the parliamentarians sit. At that time the proceedings of the House were going on, so a video also surfaced in which a person is moving forward by jumping over the table. The police arrested six people Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde, Neelam Ranoliya, Lalit Jha and Mahesh Kumawat. They are accused of illegally entering the Parliament and smoking in the Lok Sabha during the live session.
After investigation, Delhi Police had sought permission from LG to apply UAPA on them. Now after getting the approval, action will be taken against them under UAPA. Police said, everyone’s involvement has been found in the investigation. Therefore, there is a need to take strict action against them. Currently, all of them are in judicial custody.
