New Delhi. Congress may have been continuously opposing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), but voices have started rising in its favor from within. This voice has been raised by Congress Rajya Sabha MP KTS Tulsi. Talking to the media, Tulsi said that Uniform Civil Code is necessary and it is an issue related to the human rights of citizens. KTS Tulsi said that Muslim women should also get protection under the Constitution. Religious leaders should also be consulted before implementing UCC to protect Muslim women. Let us tell you that KTS Tulsi is also a famous lawyer.

BJP has targeted Congress as soon as Tulsi’s statement in favor of UCC came. BJP’s national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla welcomed the statement and said that Congress always talks about empowering women, but it opposes UCC. Now their MPs are also coming in its favor. Earlier, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had supported the UCC, saying that it would give justice to Muslim women and would stop the husband from bringing three more sons into the house. There was a lot of opposition from the opposition for this statement of Himanta. Before Himanta, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to bring UCC in his state. Apart from this, Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur and UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya had also told the need of UCC.

Explain that in Article 44 of the Constitution, the government has been asked to form the UCC. Under this, there will be uniform laws for all communities and there will be no place for personal law. BJP has always kept it in the election agenda as well. All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Muslim religious leaders have been raising their voice against it.
