New Delhi. The central government has cancelled the UGC-NET exam. This decision has been taken due to the possibility of irregularities in this exam. The Ministry of Education has handed over the investigation of irregularities in the UGC-NET exam to the CBI. Amidst the uproar over the NEET exam, the question is being raised as to why this step was taken after the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam?
In this case, the Ministry of Education has issued a statement as to why it cancelled the UGC-NET exam. The Ministry of Education has said that on June 19, UGC i.e. University Grants Commission had received some information about the NET exam from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The information received from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analysis Unit indicated that the integrity of the UGC-NET exam may have been compromised. Only after this, it was decided to cancel the UGC-NET exam and get it investigated by the CBI. The Ministry of Education has said that information about re-conducting this exam will be shared later.
The UGC-NET exam was held on 18 June. 11 lakh students were registered for the UGC-NET exam. It is being told that the UGC-NET exam paper was leaked earlier. However, the statement of the Central Government’s Education Ministry does not say that the UGC-NET paper was leaked. Let us tell you that under the UGC-NET exam, admissions are done in PhD in all universities. Those who pass it become Junior Research Fellow i.e. JRF and Assistant Professor. In UGC-NET, the first paper is of 50 questions and the second paper is of 100 questions. The first paper is necessary for everyone. These two papers of 300 marks have to be solved in 3 hours. Also, there is no negative marking in it. The UGC-NET exam is also considered to be very difficult.
