Ukraine is in the midst of a crisis on the international front as the US-led NATO is now in a mood to respond to Russia’s aggression.
As per the information received at present, thousands of foreign students are studying in more than 50 universities of Ukraine along with more than 30,000 students from India. Last December, about 150 students were admitted to a university in Ukraine to study medicine. Fee paid for one year’s study. In the wake of the Ukraine crisis, many families are concerned about their children.
Due to this, thousands of Indian students studying in universities of different cities are stuck there. There is an atmosphere of fear in everyone. The Embassy has rescued some students but still many students are trapped there and are hiding in their hostels and homes. At the same time, the Embassy has also refused the Indian student to leave the flat. It has been said that for 6 days, they should be taken out in the same condition as they are. Not only this, the embassy has also stopped them from going to the ATM, because they can be robbed. Statistics More than 1000 students from different universities of Surat, Navsari and South Gujarat live there to study medicine. And their condition is such that it is difficult for them to return home because they cannot get out of the house. Five MBA students Jigar Patel, Akash Bamani, Parth Patel, Hardik Patel and Riya Patel from Navsari district, who went to Ukraine to study, are currently stuck in a war zone.
Meanwhile, a video of Mansi Sharma, a resident of Union Territory of Daman and trapped in Ukraine, has gone viral on social media in which she has sought help from the Government of India. Mansi said that she is a student of Kharkiv National University of VN Karajania. The war in Ukraine has started. The sounds of explosions and bombings are being heard all over the city. The situation there is dire. On Thursday, he had another student flight, but before reaching we were told that the airport is now closed.
He is currently lodged in a school near the Indian Embassy in Kiev. Mansi said “Now we don’t know what we will do, where will we be all this time, what will we eat? So I request the Embassy of India and the Government of India to take some steps and help the students who are stuck here.” After the war started in Ukraine, about 3000 students of UP are trapped there. The situation in the cities of the border area of Russia has become tense. At the same time, vehicles have also been vandalized in cities adjacent to Poland. Roads and markets have been taken over by the army. The situation in these cities has changed in just 8 hours.
Here, in view of the situation in Ukraine, the Indian Embassy issued an advisory for the second time on 20 February. In this, students and Indians studying in Ukraine have been asked to contact the embassy. It was also advised to return to India if not necessary.
Now a new advisory has also been issued in which it has been said that Ukraine has closed the airspace, so the special service of the planes has been suspended but alternative solutions are being worked out to evacuate the Indian nationals.
