New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with the heads of various security and law enforcement agencies in Delhi. IB officials were also present in the meeting. The Home Minister gave necessary guidelines regarding national security to the heads of various security agencies including intelligence and enforcement agencies across the country. Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized on greater coordination between all agencies to eliminate terrorist networks and their supporting eco-system to deal with the emerging security threat scenario in the country.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday stressed on greater synergy between security and law enforcement agencies to dismantle terror networks and their supporting ecosystem to deal with the emerging security threat landscape in the country. Chairing a high-level meeting, Shah directed heads of security agencies and other intelligence and law enforcement agencies to adopt a “whole of government” approach towards national security.

Review of the functioning of MAC

The Home Minister also reviewed the functioning of the Intelligence Bureau’s ‘Multi Agency Centre’ (MAC), which has the responsibility to deal with the country’s security challenges. Sources said Shah stressed on better coordination among all agencies to dismantle terror networks and their supporting ecosystem to deal with the emerging security threat scenario in the country.

He emphasised that MAC must continue to function 24X7 as a platform for proactive and real-time sharing of actionable intelligence among various stakeholders. Shah said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MAC is set to undergo a major technological and operational overhaul to enhance the reach and effectiveness of the framework.
