Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Jaipur has been scheduled on 17 July. During this time he will inaugurate the Cooperative Conference to be held in Jaipur. This conference is being organized with the aim of strengthening cooperative institutions in Rajasthan and increasing awareness under the cooperative policy of the Central Government.
According to officials, this conference will be extremely important for representatives of the cooperative sector of Rajasthan, farmers, cooperative societies, milk producing organizations and other stakeholders. In this, along with reviewing the ongoing schemes regarding cooperatives at the state level, information will be given about the new initiatives of the Center.
Part of the preparation of international cooperative year 2025
Significantly, the United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2025 a ‘International Cooperative Year’. Under this, programs related to cooperative awareness are being organized across the country. The central government has shown activeness in this direction and entrusted the responsibility of 54 works related to the cooperative sector, including primary agricultural credit committees (PACS), milk committees, marketing, food processing, loan distribution, digital platforms etc.
Attempt to bring Rajasthan forward in the field of cooperatives
The role of cooperatives is very important in a large and agricultural state like Rajasthan. The central government wants cooperative institutions to become a strong foundation for rural economy. Through this conference, the coordination between the central and the state government will be further improved so that the schemes can be implemented effectively on the ground.
State government participation and special presentations
The conference will be attended by officials of the cooperative department of the Government of Rajasthan, representatives of cooperative societies of various districts and officials of cooperative banks. Apart from this, presentations of major cooperative institutions like Multi-State Co-operative Societies and Nafed, IFFCO, Amul run by the central government will also be presented.
