Youth Congress workers staged a unique protest in Ajmer’s Vaishali Nagar area on Thursday to protest against the huge increase in domestic gas cylinders. Meanwhile, the workers expressed their anger and threw the gas cylinders into the Anasagar lake. Mohit Malhotra, District President of Youth Congress, who is leading the protest, targeted the central government and said that this government has completely failed to control inflation.
Malhotra said that when gas prices were rising during the Congress government, BJP leaders used to go to Parliament by bullock cart. But today when the prices of cylinders are increasing, the government has neither answer nor any solution. He said that now the common people are being forced to leave the gas cylinder and cook on wood and stove again. During the protests, women activists of the Youth Congress collected firewood and cooked food, and tried to convey that the current gas prices were out of reach of the common man. Malhotra said that the central government had promised to provide cylinders for the first Rs 400, which has now become just a slogan.
Youth Congress District President Mohit Malhotra warned that if the gas prices are not reduced soon, the protests will be intensified. District in -charge Tejkaran Chaudhary, Regional Secretary Akbar Hussain, District Secretary Kavita Kahar, Shakti Super She Coordinator Tipasha Khinchi and many Youth Congress officials attended the protest. Everyone united and raised his voice against inflation and demanded immediate relief from the government.
