Kanpur. SP MLA Irfan Solanki has been sentenced to seven years of imprisonment by the MP-MLA court of Kanpur. A fine of Rs 20,000 has also been imposed. Irfan Solanki, who is lodged in Maharajganj jail, appeared through video conference. Irfan’s brother Rizwan has also been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment.
The court had convicted 5 accused including SP MLA Irfan Solanki in the Jajmau arson case on June 3. MLA Irfan, his brother Rizwan Solanki, Shaukat Pehelwan, Israel Aate Wala and Mohammad Sharif were convicted by the MPML court. A case was registered at Jajmau police station on 8 November 2022 on behalf of Nazir Fatima. A total of 12 people including the MLA were made accused. The woman had accused everyone of burning her house.
Irfan Solanki has been sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, so he is sure to lose his membership of the Legislative Assembly, only the formal announcement is pending. Now Irfan will not be able to contest elections for 6 years. Like Azam Khan and his son, Irfan Solanki’s membership of the Legislative Assembly is also sure to be cancelled. In such a situation, the possibility of a by-election in Sisamau Assembly of Kanpur cannot be ruled out.

The trial lasted for 18 months
A total of 19 cases are registered against Irfan Solanki. On 7 November 2022, an FIR was lodged against Irfan and 12 other people. This case has completely destroyed the SP MLA. After the gangster action, property worth more than Rs 30 crore of the MLA and his gang has been seized. Recently the ED had conducted raids. Akhilesh Yadav also went to Kanpur jail to meet him. Later Irfan was shifted to Maharajganj jail.
Irfan Solanki inherited politics from his father
Irfan Solanki of Rajasthan was born on 5 June 1979 in Ajmer. Born in the house of Haji Mushtaq Solanki, Irfan inherited politics from his father. His father Mushtaq Solanki was very close to Mulayam Singh Yadav. Solanki has been an MLA for the last 17 years. For the first time in 2007, he tried his luck in the assembly from Aryanagar seat in Kanpur district and became an MLA. Despite the Modi wave in 2012 and 2017, Solanki got victory. Even in 2023, Solanki won from Sisamau seat.
