Agra. Agra Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar on Saturday confirmed exposing the interstate racket of conversion. He said that the victims were rescued under Operation ‘Asmita’. Commissioner Deepak Kumar said in a press conference, “The network in Lucknow was demolished on the instructions of DGP. The Agra Cybercrime Team has arrested 14 people so far by running the operation. Ayesha alias SB Krishna (Goa), Shekhar Roy alias Ali Hasan (Kolkata), Osama (Kolkata), Osama (Agra), Rahman Kurayashi (Agra), Ritwik Ibrahim (Kolkata), Junaid Qureshi (Jaipur), Mustafa alias Manoj (Delhi), Mohammad Ali (Jaipur) and five accused Mustafabad are included. “
Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar said that many girls from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were seduced and instigated for conversion. These victims were rescued under Operation ‘Asmita’. The families were not even aware that their daughters were caught in the trap of conversion. Police investigation revealed that the wires of the accused were associated with Kashmir and Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Influencers Tanveer Ahmed and Shahid Adeeb inspired for conversion through online platforms. The gang used to fund the dark web, cryptocurrency and dollar transactions. An accused also revealed to send funds to Palestine from crowdfunding.
This racket of conversion included online games Ludo Star and Pubji to attract youth, connect with ‘Divah’ in the name of intellectual discourse and gradually motivate Islam.
The gang targeted unorganized laborers and mentally disturbed youth.
Commissioner Deepak Kumar said that this network is a serious threat to national internal security. Agra police and many agencies of the country are engaged in investigating this racket.
