The Election Commission on Friday imposed a 24-hour ban on Congress candidate Ajay Rai from Pindra assembly constituency of Varanasi for making objectionable statements. This order will come into effect from 8 am on Saturday. During this, there is a ban on taking statements or statements in public meetings, processions, rallies, road shows and interviews.
The Tehsildar has also received a copy of the order to the Congress candidate late on Friday night. Actually, former MLA and Congress candidate from Pindra assembly constituency Ajay Rai had given an objectionable statement on the distribution of ration and his video went viral.
