Lucknow . The Uttar Pradesh government has also lifted restrictions imposed on movement and commercial activities.
According to a government spokesperson, swimming pools and water parks can now open to all, while the limit on the number of guests at weddings and other functions has also been removed.
Permission has also been given to open Anganwadi centers. However, the order of the state government clearly states that COVID protocols like wearing of masks and maintaining social distance will have to be strictly followed.
The state government started easing restrictions last month. Restaurants, pubs and malls opened at full capacity, but water parks and swimming pools were still closed.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi stressed that social distancing and face masks are mandatory.
But due to the fall in the cases, all restrictions related to COVID have been lifted in the state, he added.
“At present, there are 1,050 active cases in the state. There has been a significant drop in cases. There is no point in continuing the ban on swimming pools and water parks. The last set of restrictions were lifted on Thursday.
At a time when temperatures are on the rise, the easing of restrictions on pools and water parks is a relief for residents.
