Mirzapur. Nine employees on election duty in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh died on Friday. 6 home guards, 1 health department employee, 1 consolidation officer and 1 health department clerk on election duty died due to extreme heat and scorching heat in Mirzapur. 20 home guards have been admitted to the trauma center, where their treatment is going on. Home guards from various districts had come on election duty for the polling to be held on Saturday. The deceased had reached the Polytechnic ground instead of leaving for the polling party. They were admitted to the trauma center after falling ill.
In Mirzapur, 9 workers on election duty died due to heat wave. Apart from 6 home guards, the employees who died include 1 health department employee, 1 consolidation officer and 1 health department clerk. Not only this, more than 20 home guards have been admitted to the trauma center located in the divisional hospital of the district. All the home guards had reached Mirzapur from other districts for election duty. As soon as they reached the polytechnic college, they started fainting one by one. The polling party was leaving from the college itself.
6 home guards died during treatment
Seeing the health of a large number of home guards deteriorating, they were immediately brought to the trauma center in the divisional hospital, where 6 died during treatment. Home guards Ramjivan, Satya Prakash, Tribhuvan, Ramkaran, Bacharam are among those who died. Apart from this, 20 home guards are being treated in the hospital. Medical college principal RB Kamal says that so far 6 home guards have died. A total of 23 people were brought here, out of which 20 home guards are still being treated.
District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan accepted the death of 5 home guards. The sick home guard admitted in the hospital said that he started feeling dizzy due to the heat and then darkness fell before his eyes. He fell unconscious.
