CM Yogi, in a meeting with the heads of development authorities of all the districts on Friday night, has given instructions to create SCR i.e. State Capital Region on the lines of NCR. This will go a long way in making the state a 3 trillion dollar economy. Along with this, he has sought a detailed report in a week for the second phase of Metro from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj in Lucknow. Yogi said that before Corona, 75000 people used to travel every day on the first line of Lucknow Metro. Now the same number of people are traveling on this route again. In such a situation, there is a need to prepare other connectivity of Metro.
Yogi said in a meeting with the heads of development authority that Unnao, Kanpur city, Kanpur Dehat, Sitapur, Rae Bareli and Barabanki would be kept along with Lucknow in the proposed SCR. In the meeting held through video conferencing, Yogi also reviewed the functioning of all development authorities. He said that Lucknow has to be developed as a metropolitan city like Delhi. Due to this people from all the states will come and settle here. Right now the population is increasing significantly in the surrounding districts. Therefore, along with Lucknow, these cities and districts also have to be developed. For this, preparations should be made to make SCR. For this, Yogi instructed to send the proposal soon.
In this meeting, Yogi also asked to start the Green Corridor in Lucknow soon and increase the limits of the Municipal Corporation of the city. He also asked to improve the wetlands in Butler Lake and CG City. Yogi also said that 35 acres of land should be selected soon for the modern convention center in Lucknow. Apart from this, instructions were also given to make development plans for Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Jhansi, Mathura, Bareilly, Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Chitrakoot. He also said that keeping in mind the needs of the next 50 years, the master plans of the cities should be prepared.
