Lucknow. The state government is speeding up the work of water harvesting, water conservation and bringing greenery in every village. His plan is to provide many employment opportunities to the villagers through these works. For this, works of rural development department’s Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and MNREGA construction of canals in villages, deepening of ponds and construction of MNREGA cattle sheds are being completed expeditiously. The Yogi government, which took power again in the second innings in the state, has made an action plan to change the appearance of 600 ponds under MNREGA in 100 days. Efforts have been expedited to complete it on time. The works of deepening and revitalization of ponds are to be done in Mahoba and Pratapgarh districts.
The government has also given a target to the Rural Development Department to get 15463 ponds deepened and rejuvenated under the scheme in one year. In the scheme of deepening of ponds, laborers and villagers will get employment opportunities in large numbers and their economic condition will also improve. With this scheme of the state government, the sources of water use and conservation, ponds will get a new life. Water will be available for the animals and birds to drink. Along with greenery in the village, ponds will also become helpful in maintaining the ground water source. The effort of the government is also to strengthen them by providing employment to each and every villager through welfare schemes run from village to village.
It is worth mentioning that in the last five years, the government has got 92576 ponds constructed and rejuvenated. There has been a lot of change due to the construction of community ponds in village Panchayat Kotmubarakpur and district Jaunpur of Gilaula in the development block of Shravasti.
