Hyderabad. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi has said that the Allahabad High Court’s order of survey in Gyanvapi Masjid, Varanasi is illegal, and through this the court has again opened the doors of anti-Muslim violence in 1980 and 1990. Owaisi wrote in a tweet that the High Court ordering a survey of the Gyanvapi Mosque is a clear violation of the 1991 Act relating to places of worship. He has written that there is a ban on changing places of worship under this law. In its judgment in the Ayodhya case, the Supreme Court had also said that secularism is a matter under the Constitution and it is the fundamental spirit of India.
Owaisi has also written that it is unfortunate that the court gave its opinion against this decision of the Supreme Court. The court has reopened the path of the Rath Yatra and the anti-Muslim bloodshed in the 1980s and 1990s. Let us inform that the survey of Gyanvapi Masjid has started in Varanasi from yesterday on the orders of the court. Videography is also being done during this time. The Hindu side says that this mosque was built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb by demolishing the ancient Vishweshwar temple. This side also claims that in the basement of the mosque there are Shivling and other idols of ancient Vishweshwar.
This order to survey Kashi’s Gyanvapi Masjid* is open violation of 1991 Places of Worship Act, which prohibits conversion of religious places. SC in Ayodhya judgement had said the Act protects “secular features of Indian polity which is 1 of basic features of Constitution”1/2 https://t.co/ed5yyS9ieL

Survey work in the mosque is to be done again today at 3 pm. The arranging committee of the mosque had raised questions yesterday on the methodology of the survey. Apart from this, people who came to offer prayers here had also raised slogans against it, but by the strictness of the UP Police, such people were stopped from spreading tension. Now this statement of Owaisi is expected to increase the tension. At present, the police in Varanasi is on alert and the government has made preparations to take every step to ensure that the court’s order of the survey is complied with.
Unfortunate that the Court* is blatantly defying the SC. By this order, the Court is opening the path for the bloodshed of Rath Yatra and anti-Muslim violence of 1980s-1990s. 2/2
