The police of the Yogi government has started a series of encounters. After the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced on June 4, till Wednesday, the UP police has done 22 encounters of criminals. 2 criminals have been killed in these encounters. At the same time, the police of the Yogi Adityanath government has arrested about 20 criminals by shooting them in the leg.
According to the information, UP Police killed one criminal each in Jaunpur and Muzaffarnagar in an encounter. Prashant Singh alias Prince, who had a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head, was also among them. He was killed in Jaunpur. Prashant Singh was playing hide and seek with the police for 7 years. On June 6, UP Police killed Nilesh Rai, who had a bounty of Rs 2 lakh on his head, in Muzaffarnagar. The killed Nilesh Rai was from Bihar. Apart from this, police in 13 other districts in UP have caught criminals in encounters and sent them behind bars. UP Police has done these encounters in Ambedkar Nagar, Meerut, Bijnor, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh, Rampur, Jalaun and Sitapur. In UP’s capital Lucknow too, police shot a criminal in his leg in an encounter. Yogi government’s police has also caught criminals in Barabanki and Kaushambi near Lucknow through encounters.
As soon as UP CM Yogi Adityanath became CM in 2017, he gave UP police a free hand to deal with criminals. Yogi had announced from a public platform that criminals should either leave UP or they would be sent to their deaths. It was only after this that a series of encounters began. In which big criminals were killed. Many criminals, seeing the situation going against them, got their bail cancelled and went to jail. At the same time, there were some criminals who surrendered at the police station with a placard around their neck during the Yogi government.
