Bengaluru. UP Warriors registered their second win by defeating Gujarat Giants by 6 wickets in the Women’s Premier League match played on Friday. This is Gujarat Giants’ third consecutive defeat in 3 matches. For UP, Sophie Eccleston took 3 wickets while Grace Harris played an excellent inning of 60 runs in 33 balls to give her team its second win in 4 matches. UP Warriors achieved the target at 4 wickets in 15.4 overs after restricting Gujarat team to 142 runs for 5 wickets.
Player of the match Grace Harris, apart from hitting nine fours and two sixes in her innings, made an unbroken partnership of 53 runs in 30 balls with Deepti Sharma (17 not out) for the fifth wicket. She made a partnership of 36 runs in 21 balls for the fourth wicket with Sri Lankan experienced Chamari Atapattu (17 runs), who was making her debut in WPL (WPL 2024).
