It is being told that Soni had submitted his resignation to the President in June itself, but the information about it has become public today. However, his resignation has not been accepted yet. Manoj Soni took over as UPSC Chairman on May 16, 2023 last year and his tenure was till May 15, 2029. Questions are being raised that why did Soni resign five years before the end of the tenure?
