Mahasamund. Bharatiya Janata Party Jhalp, Pateva Mandal workers and farmers of the area will block the road in Jhalap on February 25 at 1 pm regarding the urea problem.
The farmers of Mahasamund assembly constituency will participate in large numbers in the road jam organized at Jhalp bus stand and will pressurize the government to provide urea and other fertilizers to the farmers at the government rate.
A meeting of workers of Bharatiya Janata Party Jhalp, Pateva Mandal was held regarding the problem of urea and other fertilizers in Jhalap. The workers present unanimously expressed concern over the problems being faced by the farmers, holding the state government’s policy responsible for the shortage of fertilizers.
On one hand, the Chhattisgarh government boasts of raising the price of paddy to 25 hundred, but black marketing of fertilizers, seeds, increase in electricity prices and girdawari is cheating the farmers. After the same 2018, the amount of support price of Rs 350 increased by the Center is being put in the pockets of farmers by filling it in their treasury, Rs 350 per quintal, whereas the farmers were to get the price of paddy of Rs 2850.
Congress leaders made big statements regarding the availability of manure, but they could not provide it, while as much fertilizer as they want is available in the market at the rate of eight nine hundred rupees.
When the traders have fertilizer and it is available at a high price, it means that instead of giving fertilizer to the societies, the state government is giving fertilizer to the traders from somewhere. The disappearance of fertilizers from the market even after providing 20 percent more fertilizers than the demand is enough to cast doubt on the Congress government.
