Bhilai. As a rail manufacturer for the nation, SAIL’s Bhilai Steel Plant has become an integral part of the day-to-day operations of Indian Railways. The plant has rolled out world class trains as per the stringent norms of Indian Railways. At present, Universal Rail Mill (URM) and Rail Structural Mill (RSM) of Bhilai Steel Plant have set a record in rail production and dispatch. URM has achieved 95.78 percent acceptance rate in the investigation of Rails. Earlier this rate was 95.50 percent.
Bhilai Steel Plant has been manufacturing world class quality rails as per desired parameters of various grades, quality, profile and length for the Indian Railways for more than six decades. The Universal Rail Mill of the plant has set a new record by achieving 95.78 percent acceptance rate in the investigation of the rail on Monday. This new record was recorded earlier on February 04, leaving behind the record of acceptance rate of 95.50 percent.
In this episode of the record, Rail and Structural Mill (RSM), setting a special record in rail dispatch, by dispatching 14 rakes of 260 meters long rails of R-260 grade 60 E-1 profile rails, against 13 rakes made in January. He broke his old record. Director-in-Charge Anirban Dasgupta appreciated the URM and RSM fraternity as well as their associate departments SMS-2, SMS-3, T&D, RCL, RITES and other allied departments.
Caster-1 of SMS-3 made a record of 28 heats
Bhilai. Castor-1 of Steel Melting Shop-3 (SMS-3), the Madex unit of Bhilai Steel Plant, has set another new record of daily production. Castor-1 set a record of 28 heats. Earlier on February 6, the maximum heat figure was 26 heats.
In the record category, SMS-3 achieved the highest life span of the caster, on 22 February, SMS-3 was able to produce a record 150 heats continuously, which is much more than the 133 heat steel production achieved on 7 February. Plant Director-in-Charge Anirban Dasgupta, Executive Director (Works) Anjani Kumar appreciated the members of SMS-3 fraternity and concerned departments for their excellent performance.
