Moscow. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed on Saturday that the US does not allow Ukraine to agree to the terms put forth by Russia in the talks. According to RT, Lavrov said dialogues have improved, but the United States may ‘hold the hand’ of the Ukrainian delegation. The minister expressed hope that the military operation would end with security guarantees and a comprehensive agreement on Ukraine’s neutral position.
Commenting on the Russian special operations in Ukraine, Lavrov said that these incidents were the culmination of the course that the West had taken against Russia since the early 1990s.
Lavrov also said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement that he does not support neo-Nazis is contrary to his actual actions.
Lavrov said, “To my great regret and shame, President Zelensky announces how he can be a Nazi when he is of Jewish descent, and he says this exactly on the same day as the Heroes of the Defense of Ukraine.” The agreement on the protection of monuments departs from the Great Patriotic War – such an agreement existed within the framework of the CIS.
The minister said that when Zelensky patronizes such trends, it becomes difficult to take the policies of the Ukrainian leadership seriously.
