Students protesting against the rigging in UGC NET exam
CBI is investigating the case of fraud in UGC NET exam. CBI has taken the investigation forward by registering an FIR under section 120B and 420 of IPC. Many important revelations have come to light regarding the fraud in this exam. According to sources, CBI has received information that there was a possibility of leakage of UGC NET exam on June 16. Along with this, CBI has also received inputs that this paper was being sold for 5 to 6 lakh rupees.
Inputs were received regarding irregularities in the exam
The UGC NET exam was conducted in two shifts on June 18. The next day, i.e. on June 19, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, which comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs, received inputs that there might have been some irregularity in this exam.
Paper circulated on the darknet
According to sources, on the 16th, the exam paper was circulated on the darknet and encrypted social media platforms. Till now, the CBI has not been able to find out who leaked the exam paper and from where. The CBI is in touch with those people of the National Testing Agency (NTA) who were responsible for conducting this exam and keeping the exam paper safe.
CBI is questioning some institutes including NTA
After receiving inputs related to the exam leak, Education Department Secretary Sanjay Murthy gave a written complaint to the CBI on June 20. On this, the CBI has registered an FIR of conspiracy and fraud against unknown people and has started questioning and investigation of people from NTA and some different institutes.
