Kedarnath Dham opening: The date of opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarakhand has been fixed. The Public Relations Officer of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee said that in a religious ceremony organized in the Omkareshwar temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri, in the presence of Chief Priest Rawal Bhimashankar, after counting the Panchang, the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham was taken out. After the calculations, it was decided that the doors of Baba Kedar Dham would be opened on 6th May in Scorpio ascendant at 6.25 am. At the same time, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 8 May.
Temple committee president Ajendra Ajay, outgoing MLA of Kedarnath Manoj Rawat, Ukhimath sub-collector Jitendra Verma along with religious and administrative officials were present on the occasion of taking out the Muhurta. Let us tell you that due to heavy snowfall and severe cold in winter, the doors of all the four dhams of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri are closed for the devotees, which are opened again in April-May next year.
Along with the opening of the doors of Lord Kedarnath, the leading of the twelfth Jyotirlingas, the date of departure of Panchmukhi movable Deity festival Doli from Ukhimath to Kailash was also fixed. The Doli of Baba Kedarnath will leave for the Dham on May 2 from the Omkareshwar temple, the winter seat. Before this, Lord Bhairavnath will be worshiped on 1st May and after bringing the doli of Baba Kedar to the hall on 2nd May, the doli will leave for Dham. Doli will do the first night stay in Guptkashi. On May 3, Doli will leave for Gaurikund after overnight stay in Rampur. On May 5, the Panchmukhi festival of Baba Kedar will leave for Doli Dham and the next day i.e. on May 6, the doors of Baba Kedarnath will be opened.
