Uttarakhand Road Accident. 14 people died in a major road accident in Uttarakhand on Monday night. In the accident on the dry Dang-Danda Minar road connected to the state’s Tanakpur-Champawat highway, 14 people were killed in the Max vehicle. Here last night at 3.20 pm, a vehicle went uncontrolled and fell into a deep gorge, in which 14 people died on the spot. Along with this, the seriously injured driver and one other person have been brought to the district hospital for treatment.
All the family members were returning from marriage
According to local sources, this horrific accident happened about 3 km ahead of Budam. All the people were returning from the marriage of Manoj Singh, son of Laxman Singh, a resident of Kaknai. Most of the dead are relatives of Laxman Singh. After information, police and relief and rescue teams reached the spot. The bodies of all 14 people have been pulled out of the ditch. Two people seriously injured in the accident were taken to the district hospital for treatment, where after first aid they were referred to the Higher Center. The condition of the driver is said to be serious.
All the deceased were from Danda and Kathoti village.
According to the police, the deceased belonged to Danda and Kathoti villages of Kaknai. However, the cause of the accident is not yet known. Police is probing the whole matter. It is suspected that the accident took place due to over-riding. According to the information received so far, all the people aboard Max vehicle number-UK 04, TA-4712 were returning home after attending the marriage held in Panchmukhi Dharamshala, Tanakpur.
13 dead bodies including 4 women, a girl child removed from the ditch
There were 16 people in the vehicle. The accident happened around 10 pm on Monday night. Till 10 am on Tuesday, 13 bodies have been removed from the ditch and identified. Two injured are undergoing treatment.
The names of the dead in the accident are as follows –
1- Laxman Singh (61) son Dhyan Singh, resident of Kakanai, Champawat
2- Kedar Singh (62) son Dan Singh, resident of Kakanai
3-Ishwar Singh (40) son Fateh Singh, resident of Kakanai
4- Umed Singh (48) son Ganesh Singh, resident of Kakanai
5- Hayat Singh (37) son Diwan Singh, resident of Kakanai
6-Pooja Devi (55) wife Narayan Singh, resident of Haldwani,
7- Bhagwati Devi (45) wife Hoshiar Singh, resident of Haldwani,
8- Pushpa Devi (50) wife Sher Singh, resident of Kakanai
9- Basanti Devi (35) resident of Champawat
10- Shyam Lal (50) son Dani Ram, resident of Danda
11- Vijay Lal (48) son Ishwari Ram, resident of Danda
12-Harish Singh (15) son Umed Singh, resident of Danda
13- Basanti Devi (05) resident of Champawat
