Dehradun, Kedarnath Yatra, an important part of Uttarakhand’s holy Chardham Yatra, is going to start from May 2 this year. Every year lakhs of devotees from all over the country and abroad are involved in this journey to see Baba Kedar.
This time, the state government and administration have started comprehensive preparations to make the yatra safe, smooth and successful. In order to finalize the arrangements in the Yatra Marg and Kedarnath Dham, the Secretary of the Department of Culture and Language and the Secretary in charge of the Kedarnath Yatra, Yugal Kishore Pant conducted a terrestrial inspection of the area.
During the inspection, the couple reached Kishore Pant Kedarnath temple complex and took stock of the ongoing reconstruction and beautification works there.
Reviewing the quality and progress of the construction works, he gave strict instructions to the officials that all the work should be completed in a timely manner, so that the devotees would not have to face any inconvenience before the journey starts. Along with this, he also inspected the walk route from Gaurikund to Kedarnath and ordered the concerned departments to immediately remove the frozen ice on the route. Emphasis was also laid on quick removal of frozen ice in the temple premises.
Giving priority to the safety and convenience of the devotees during the journey, the administration has paid special attention to health services, housing system and route improvement. Officials say that despite snowfall and weather challenges, all preparations will be completed on the scheduled time. This journey is not only important from a religious point of view, but also gives impetus to the local economy. The administration aims that this time the journey is more systematic and memorable for devotees than previous years.
The journey of the world famous Kedarnath Dham is scheduled to begin on May 2. Earlier, the district administration, health department and other related teams have started preparing for the journey. The objective is that before the opening of the kapat, all the arrangements should be improved, so that the journey can run in a smooth and grand manner.
