Crowned by ‘Miss World 1997’ Diana Hayden
This year, 25-year-old Vaidehi Dongre, a resident of Michigan, has won the title of ‘Miss India USA’, which started in America 40 years ago. While Arshi Lalani, a resident of Georgia, was declared the runner up. The winner was revealed Vaidehi graduated from the University of Michigan and now works as a business development manager in a large company.
Vaidehi, who became ‘Miss India USA’, said that she wants to leave a good impression in the society. She wants to focus on women’s financial independence and literacy. Prior to this, Vaidehi has also won the title of ‘Miss Talented’ for the classical dance Kathak.

20-year-old Lalani was declared the first runner up after Vaidehi. Arshi’s performance took everyone by surprise even though she was suffering from brain tumour. Mira Kasari of North Carolina was declared the second runner up. Diana Hayden, who became Miss World in 1997, became the chief judge of this competition.
Apart from Miss India USA, two other competitions were also held. In which there was ‘Mrs India USA’ and ‘Teen India USA’. In all three events, 61 contestants from 30 states took part.
