Telecom operators affected

Marina Ferrari, the state secretary in charge of digital affairs, posted on X that the damage in several areas on the night of Sunday to Monday affected telecom operators. She said it affected access to fiber lines, fixed and mobile telephone lines. A French police official said at least six administrative departments in France were affected, including the area around the city of Marseille. Football matches and sailing competitions are being held here.

Teams are busy restoring services

Telecom operators Bouygues and Free have confirmed that their services have been affected. French media reports say lines operated by SFR have also been affected. The affected companies have said their teams are working to restore services.

There was vandalism in trains

Earlier last week, trains were vandalised in France, which is under investigation. The vandalism disrupted travel for about one million passengers in France as well as London and other neighbouring countries. By Monday, train traffic had largely been restored.
