New Delhi. The speculations about Varun Gandhi, the sitting MP from Pilibhit, who is known as the fire brand leader of BJP, will contest the elections have come to an end. A statement has been issued by Varun’s personal secretary that Varun Gandhi will not contest elections from Pilibhit. Varun will campaign in the elections of his mother Maneka Gandhi while remaining in BJP. It is noteworthy that this time BJP has made Jitin Prasad its candidate for the Lok Sabha elections by not giving ticket to Varun Gandhi from Pilibhit. The discussion about Varun’s ticket being canceled had started several days before the list was released. But after his name did not appear in the list, there was confusion about Varun’s next step. There were also reports that Varun may contest as an independent candidate. This was strengthened when even before the list was released, Varun purchased four sets of nomination papers from Pilibhit through his personal secretary.
After this, such discussion had gained momentum that Varun has made up his mind that he has to contest the elections, whether from BJP or as an independent. But now Varun’s personal secretary Kamalkant has put an end to these speculations. Varun Gandhi will neither be a rebel nor contest elections. Rather, he will campaign for his mother Maneka Gandhi, to whom BJP has once again given ticket from Sultanpur. Let us tell you that Pilibhit seat is considered a stronghold of BJP and has been held by the Gandhi family for many decades. First former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi was elected from Pilibhit seat and then her son Varun Gandhi was elected MP from here. In the 2019 general elections, BJP had fielded Maneka Gandhi’s son Varun Firoz Gandhi in place of her traditional seat.
