Vegetables of most of the vegetable growers who take vegetable cultivation in Rabi season start coming in the last week of February and first week of March. This is the reason that these days there is a lot of speed in the local and external arrival of vegetables in Shyamtarai, the wholesale vegetable market. Vegetables are arriving in large quantities to be sold, but chillar traders are falling short to buy.
Due to insufficient offtake of vegetables, the prices have dropped significantly. Heavy loss to vegetable growers
Vegetable growers Sandeep Kumar Sahu, Girdhar Patel, Hirendra Kumar Sahu etc. said that these days due to heavy production of vegetables, the arrival has increased, in such a situation, the price of water is being asked for the vegetables produced by them, which will increase the cost of vegetable cultivation. They are not able to get out, in such a situation they have a huge loss.
It is noteworthy that even after the fall in the prices of vegetables in the wholesale vegetable market, the Chillar traders are not reducing the prices of vegetables sufficiently in the Chillar vegetable market. With the aim of earning more profit, only a few have been done, so there is little relief for the housewives.
