New Delhi. After declaring Jagdeep Dhankhar as NDA’s candidate for the Vice Presidential election by BJP, now the challenge is before the opposition to field a big leader in his contest. How the opposition can overcome this challenge is expected to be known by this evening. The opposition parties, including the Congress, are going to meet today at 3 pm to decide on the name of their candidate for the Vice Presidential election. Let us inform that TMC Chief and West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee had fixed the name of her party’s Vice President Yashwant Sinha for the Presidential election, but in view of her thin condition before the election, this time Mamta may not insist on any name. Give.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge had informed about the meeting to be held today two days ago. Kharge had said that many names are in front and a decision will be taken to field the best leader for the Vice Presidential election. Parliament’s session is scheduled to begin from tomorrow. For this, separate all-party meetings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs have also been called. Only after the all-party meeting, the leaders of the opposition parties will meet in the Parliament premises and the names will be decided in it. However, BJP is hoping to garner a lot of votes in favor of Jagdeep Dhankhar. In the Vice Presidential election, even the legislators of the states do not vote. In such a situation, Dhankhar’s victory will be done only by the votes of BJP MPs. Still, the BJP leadership wants it to garner maximum votes in favor of Dhankhar.
The nomination for the post of Vice President can be filled till July 19. Scrutiny of papers will be held on July 20. Candidates can withdraw their names till July 22. If more than one candidate is in the fray, then voting will be held on August 6 from 10 am to 5 pm. After this the counting of votes will also take place on the same day. The candidate needs 391 votes out of 780 members of parliament to win. BJP has 394 votes in both the houses.
