Lakhimpur. Families of four farmers who were allegedly killed by the convoy of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni’s son during the violence on October 3 last year are now demanding that the case be taken out of Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Gurwinder Singh’s elder brother, Gursewak Singh said that the matter should be transferred to Delhi. We all know that action is affecting here. No action was taken against the Union Minister despite the video threatening farmers going viral.
“The attitude of the Uttar Pradesh government is different. There is no scope for justice in Uttar Pradesh.”
Satnam Singh, father of 19-year-old Lovepreet Singh, who was killed in the violence, said that despite having all the evidence, we sometimes think that we are fighting a losing battle. We all know that the state is trying to save the accused. The minister is openly giving statements that he has proved his ‘innocence’ by ensuring BJP’s victory in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Jagdeep Singh, son of the victim Nachhatar Singh said that there is no way to get justice in Uttar Pradesh. The main accused was easily granted bail by the SIT despite the evidence being produced in the court. The incident was not an act of premeditated and careless, it was one of the most heinous crimes in the country.
He said that now to ensure justice to the farmers, we are going to approach the apex court to transfer the matter to Delhi or elsewhere.
