Sonulal Goswami, resident of Guda Gudi Ka Naka Chaurasia Colony, joined the Army Air Defense Corps on 9 January 2004. After retiring after 18 years of service, when he got down at the railway station to reach his home, he saw his wife and relatives standing with garlands in their hands to welcome him. Who gave a grand welcome as soon as they got off the train. Sonulal was even more surprised when he saw that his neighbors and other relatives were standing outside the station with elephants, band baja and drums and other relatives to take him to his house. From here on an elephant, a grand journey to the house was taken out with bands. In which Sonulal’s wife and relatives were walking together celebrating happiness while singing and dancing. Friends and relatives were welcomed at many places along the way of the Yatra. It took them a full 6 hours to reach home from the station. The entire event was organized by his wife Aarti Goswami. Aarti says that she was planning for a long time that when they come home, I will welcome them in such a way that no one has done it till date. But no good idea was coming. For which I talked to my relatives on this subject. Everyone gave different suggestions, a relative said that he will bring it from the station on a buggy. Then the other relative said why the buggy will be like an elephant. Just then thought that now I will bring Sonulal home on an elephant. After that we started all the preparations without informing them. In this, I first talked to the elephants, then booked the band and the drummers. Then my dream came true. Today I am very happy that my husband is back home.
