BCCI informed on Wednesday about appointing Morne Morkel as bowling coach. After Morkel’s name was finalised, a video of Gautam Gambhir from 2022 went viral. In this video, Gambhir is saying, ‘The coach of the Indian team should be an Indian. This is a matter of sentiments. Foreign coaches, who are given a lot of importance here, come here only to earn money. But one good thing that could have happened and has happened in the last six years is that now only Indian players are being made coaches. Hopefully this trend will continue.’
