Water drainage dispute in Himpur Deepa village of Bijnor took violent forms
Bijnor. A shocking case has come to light in Hempur Deepa village of Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh, where village head Poonam Devi and her husband Sanjay Kumar were attacked by her own neighbors. The dispute started with drainage in the village, which turned into violence in a few minutes. The video of this entire incident has now gone viral on social media, which has questioned the functioning of the police administration.
Water drainage became the root of controversy
In fact, after heavy rains on 15 June, water was flooded behind the house of village head Poonam Devi. When he talked to his neighbors about the drainage of water, the matter caught up. It is alleged that the quarrel grew so much that the neighbors attacked Pradhan and her husband with sticks and bricks.
Holding hair and dragged with sticks
During the incident, a villager made a full video of the assault, which is now viral on the Internet. In the viral video, it can be seen that Pradhan’s husband Sanjay Kumar is being dragged far away by beating them with sticks. At the same time, the female head was also caught on the ground by grabbing his hair. This scene was not only inhuman, but also questions the democratic system – where an elected public representative is beaten in a way and the administration remains mute spectators.
Police only took action for ‘breach of peace’
The victims immediately reached the Himpur Deepa police station and demanded to lodge an FIR against the accused, but the police challaned only one accused Kunal under Section 151 (Shanti Bread). The victims allege that the police took the case of serious assault lightly and tried to save the culprits.
SP pleads, now court shelter
Annoyed by this negligence of the police, Principal Poonam Devi and her husband made a written complaint to Superintendent of Police Bijnor on 17 June. Taking the matter seriously, the SP has entrusted the task of investigation to Chandpur CO. At the same time, in the hope of justice, Pradhan’s husband Sanjay Kumar has now approached the court.
Outrage among panchayat representatives
After this incident, there is anger among the heads and panchayat representatives in the surrounding area. He says that if an elected female head will be treated like this and the administration remains silent, then what will happen to the common villagers?
